Long Hanten Jacket - Rain drop

£180.00

Hanten jackets are a traditional garment from north Japan,
worn inside during the cold winter months and during periods of heavy snowfall.
Popularised in the 18th century, the jackets were traditionally padded with a layer of cotton.

BUNGU store is now offering a very rare long hanten jackets, hand made in Japan.
The lining is a 100% cotton and inner wadding is bespoke mix of 70% of cotton and 30% of polyester, formulated for optimum warmth and breathability.
The outer cotton layer is constructed using traditional Kurume textiles from the Chikugo region of Japan.

Many of the jackets also feature plenty of handy inner and outer pockets – perfect for storing your belongings.
These jackets can be worn inside as a housecoat, as a layer under an overcoat, or as a stylish outer garment over knitwear now or a shirt, blouse or T-shirt in early spring.
With correct care, a hanten jacket is a hardwearing piece, which can be enjoyed for many years.
As one customer told us, "it's like wearing a warm hug."
